~ Some people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime ~
Being a gypsy and moving from town to town I find myself connecting with people on a daily basis. The ocean generally is the place where I spend a lot of time during my days, either surfing, looking for shells, walking the dogs that I am petsitting, exercising or just contemplating the beauty of the sea meeting the sand.
When I meet people I often just smile and say hello, but there are some people I meet who I feel drawn to and want to spend more time talking with connecting through a common interest. I love listening to others stories and sharing stories with others, it is so important to spend time with other people and to learn from them. When I come away from meeting someone who I connected with I feel happy, light hearted and excited that somebody else shares some of the passions that I too share.
Am I the only person that feels this way?
I think we all have so much to learn throughout life and by talking about things that we are passionate about with other people that are positive. Sometimes we may never see that person again and sometimes we may make a lifetime friend just by making that initial connection with someone else who we feel drawn to.
The last few days I have spent a lot of time with 2 of my beautiful girlfriends who I don't often see. We walked along the beach with the dogs, had lunch, surfed, laughed, talked about relationships and life and talked and listened. Being in one place for only a few weeks at a time leaves me with less time to connect with those friends who live there, but it also makes me appreciate them so much more when I do see them. My close girlfriends are my sistas, they are the women that I trust and love and can share anything with. They are strong and capable women who inspire me, never judge me and who I can laugh and cry with.
Today my gratitude is toward each and every one of them. Hold dear to those women in your life, you are so blessed to have them and they to have you.
